Also, I'm not so sure Newsom would do well in the Blue Wall states. I live in the Midwest. A lot of folks are down on California here. The long conservative push to define California as a hellhole people are fleeing in droves has worked well. I love Cali. But a lot of folks who've never been near the place buy into the hype. Newsom has not gotten positive press in recent years. He got raked over the coals for the French Laundry incident. And the recall effort was national news that made it all the way out here. He's not going to appeal to blue collar types or seniors, I don't think. Comes across as slick, rightly or wrongly.

I'd vote for the Dem nominee no matter what. I can't see Newsom drawing lots of undecideds where it counts. And Trump has lots of appeal. We barely beat him last time. It's going to be a very, very tough fight.
