In reply to the discussion: Can we fucking get back to campaigning against Trump, and not our own party's presumptive nominee [View all]Fiendish Thingy
(19,023 posts)16. Unfortunately, the "should he/shouldn't he" question will dominate our attention
The question will dominate until at least tomorrow, when SCOTUS releases the immunity ruling, and may yet still continue until Trump is sentenced on July 11, or until Biden announces a firm final decision on the question.
The media feeding frenzy wont help either. My sense is it will continue to dominate the news, and DUs attention unless/until:
1) Biden announces he is withdrawing as the nominee, which will touch off a whos next? Frenzy
2) Trump is sentenced to prison time on July 11
3) a major natural disaster/terrorist attack hits the US
Its distressing, and the medias complicity is despicable, but that is the reality of the situation.

The debate "performance" was a disappointment, but I haven't lost any enthusiasm for or belief in a Biden 2nd term.

That's a lot to ask. But I bet this shit blows over soon and we see some hard data and the pundits

Indeed they did, but DU seems to be ignoring that data in favor of hyperbolic nonsense from pundits

It is almost entirely the pundit and publishing class who are campaigning against our candidate,
