Republican strategist Lee Atwater once said, “Perception is reality.” Corporate media understands this concept all too well; their reporting mostly consists of creating perceptions to influence viewers. They want voters' perceptions of Biden's performance to matter more than what he (and Trump) actually said during the debate.
