(1,255 posts)That will shake things up for an election or two, once the mega donors shift to the "sane" Republican side, where's the money for MAGA? With some good Dem leadership, removal of Citizen's United, a reformed Supreme Court, we can set things up to be better for future generations.
And we'll have to always be vigilant. Nor more "we're better than the other guy", unless it's true. No more "vote blue, no matter who". The Dem has to actually be better, not just barely better than the alternative, to work for us and not Wall Street. It's going to be hard. No doubt about it. Backbreaking, heartbreaking, soulbreaking WORK.
I believe this is the pivot point for democracy. If we lose, we're done. Not forever, maybe fifty years, a hundred years. Untold suffering to come and endure. So, the only option is to win, and to keep winning. I think Joe Biden's greatest gift to us was knowing he had to step down, and having the courage to do it. To trust Kamala Harris, to trust us.
We have to make sure he didn't make this sacrifice for nothing. It's on us. The torch has been passed, now we have to fucking light up the world with it.
