(12,011 posts)My main concerns about Shapiro are the potential for him to bring more attention to divisions in the party regarding Israel (which are not fair, since the other candidates have similar positions, but it's the reality), and the fact that he clearly had his sights set on 2028 before Biden stepped aside. Which has me a little nervous about whether he'd really want Kamala to win. But if that's the case, it might be better to keep him close by putting him on the ticket, since if he is picked and we don't win Pennsylvania that will hurt his future aspirations. Also, Obama and Biden both seem to trust him so that makes me trust him more.
OTOH, Walz seems like a potentially better governing partner, more akin to Kamala's own Joe Biden. But she doesn't get to govern unless she wins.
