Makes sense he would project that onto others, and then get confused about first name/last name. His handlers must be tearing their hair out trying to remind him things constantly. Then, he figures if he didn't know (or remember) something it must be big news he can share with others. It's the whole Frederick Douglas thing all over.

When he is told something, he thinks it's all brand newly discovered info and he can dazzle the public with his astonishing information.

His memory has been declining for a long time now and he is just about in the stage where they can't fool any of the people any of the time.

Dementia isn't pretty. My sister died of it a year ago today.
