I understand what you're saying. However, America existed with the Fairness Doctrine for decades and that scenario didn't happen. The key was always to put pressure on the network. They all knew that if they allowed one to happen, they would be REQUIRED to allow the reverse opinion to be stated. Technically, Rush could have had his show during the era of the Fairness Doctrine. But if it aired on any station/network, the provider would be required to free up the same amount of time for the opposing side. Nobody was going to take that risk. That was the beauty of it.
