(95,295 posts)With his Confucian sig-line and playful-formal Confucian persona he brought out a joyful Taoist in me, and Im not usually a happy person when it comes to politics.
When I replied to him as Sir, I always wished for a little emoji that was making a formal hands-in-sleeves bow.
The Magistrate lost a lot of his lightness when his son passed away, but was still our sage with the formal air.
I weep as I write this, Oh Sir, please dont go yet. Yet if there is anything we learn as we age, its that we all must go in our time.
Come, Sir, let us sit by the river, recite poetry, and drink wine, and float our empty cups away in the moonlight.
