In reply to the discussion: About JD Vance and his "entreaty" to women to stop working and raise families. [View all]keep_left
(2,583 posts)36. For nearly the entire campaign, Vance has been plagiarizing alt-right...
...MRA/PUA anti-woman rhetoric. He sounds like a new Roosh V, whereas the actual Roosh V aged out of "pickup artistry", got deplatformed, and deleted his entire web presence more than a year ago.
...Any number of times now during this campaign, Vance has been caught essentially plagiarizing alt-right rhetoric, delivering it directly to Trump fans in his speeches. This also serves to short-circuit the "mainstreaming" process that normally goes on in the culture (where the most overt bigotry and racism gets removed from, say, the rantings of Roosh V et al.). What Vance is doing is the cultural equivalent of injecting uncut hard drugs into the veins of the body politic.

OP
Republicans in some states have also been trying to ban no-fault divorce to make it harder for women to leave spouses.

Uh, excuse me. For most of us common folk, it takes both husband and wife working to make ends meet.

You know what would solve that problem? Another tax cut for billionaires and corporations.

Bet JD would be a lot happier, and probably at least marginally better at, being a stay at home Dad.

Even for a woman who wants to do that. Their corporate overlords have made that impossible.
