13. There was a great radio talker who said the same thing in a similar way back in the '00s.

Something along the lines of - you may not be into politics but one day politics is going to pay attention.....to you.

The idea being some politician(s) were going to enact some policy that would be detrimental to you ie you didn't help to try, and defeat it by electing or supporting people who'd work to protect you opposing Law X.
