The public will see potentially incriminating evidence about the GOP candidate for President shortly before the election [View all]

What a Difference a Judge Makes
Jack Smith has a good day in DC Federal Court

In a Joint Status Report in the DC election interference case, Special Counsel Jack Smith told Judge Tanya Chutkan that his opening brief would mention secret grand jury evidence that was not disclosed in the latest indictment of former President Trump. That’s an important development, as this means that the public will see potentially incriminating evidence about the GOP candidate for President shortly before the election.

In addition, Judge Chutkan ruled that the issue of Presidential immunity will be fully briefed on Jack Smith’s timetable – which is before the election. And in three weeks, Smith is going to preview his case in his written pleadings, including the new evidence against Trump. That’s why yesterday’s hearing before Judge Chutkan was a win for Jack Smith, which had to be a breath of fresh air considering the constant beating that he and his fellow prosecutors have taken in Judge Aileen Cannon’s courtroom – who was considered pro-prosecution before the defendant was named Donald Trump.
