...him from the legendary roles he played in truly stellar films, it's clear to me that Jones didn't always take himself or his job unduly seriously. As one example, check out the cinematic turkey that is City Limits (1985), a movie so bad it was satirized on Mystery Science Theater 3000. In addition to Jones, the cast includes Robby Benson, Rae Dawn Chong, and a very young Kim Cattrall.
Here's the full movie (MST3k version) at YouTube. There are lots of James Earl Jones jokes throughout, typically involving the comic imitation of Jones' basso profundo voice. There are a couple of especially funny scenes involving model planes fitted with explosives at 1:20:55 and 1:22:18.
