In reply to the discussion: ABC Is Saying They Will Not Fact Check During the Debate [View all]Dennis Donovan
(28,451 posts)Since I'll be watching that outlet and not the ABC feed (which I don't have access to anyway), the fact-checking will not be in real-time.
Besides, given time constraints, attempting to fact-check Trump and his firehose of bullshit in real time would be nearly impossible. If ABC does its due-diligence and DOES do an honest post-debate fact-check/analysis, I would be pleasantly surprised.
This debate will be a shitshow no matter what because you have one candidate committed to talking policy (and, hopefully, enough time for *some* real-time fact-checking of her opponent) and the other committed to talking crazy bullshit, obvious lies and ad-hominem attacks.
The debate is a lose-lose proposition for the VP, but demanded by a small part of the electorate (the "undecideds" who can't be bothered to pay attention to the Trump danger vortex) because "they don't know enough about VP Harris to make a decision."
