He could have attacked Trump's inability to do the job and his declining mental health without mentioning his actual age. There are some attacks that are better left to the media or surrogates. As the future Vice President of the United States (I'm being optimistic), I think he needs to maintain a certain dignity.

Walz is great on the campaign trail and this is the first time I've heard him say something that rather rubbed me the wrong way, but so soon after all the ageism attacks on Joe, I'm still sensitive. Joe was and is the best president of my lifetime and he has gotten so little credit for his accomplishments.

Meanwhile, the most reliable voting demographic is the elderly. Not all of them will take it the wrong way, but I'm sure many will.
