4. Am I being too dramatic?

The simple answer is “no idea”.

I am a subscriber to Arendt’s notion of the banality of evil. I think a war of economic attrition and complete chaos at the very least seem likely.

All of our predictions go out the door when wildcards like this lot (Trump, Musk, Vance) come into power. It could be very bad or really astonishingly bad.

I am hoping it will only be very bad but then again I am the Pollyanna who bought into the Iowa Poll and the promise of ..oh so many things that failed to materialize this election. It was mostly serious wishful thinking rather than a prediction, something I rarely attempt (beyond “looks scary”).

There is no saying. A cat and mouse game at any rate is a given re any liberals who speak out or anything..
