(10,834 posts)The difference between the NY Times, WashPost, LA Times and others like them is that they really report and vet their stories. (I worked in a major metropolitan newsroom for over 35 years, FYI.) The list you mentioned, while OK to listen to and watch for partisan information, are opinion, just like Fox.
I've said it a couple of times on here today. The legitimate media is not the reason we lost the election. It's easy to scapegoat them, but they work very hard on their stuff and they vet it. BUT ... and here's a big BUT ... their opinion pieces (aka op-ed) are not the same as news stories. People need to look closely at what they're reading to make sure it's a news story and not an opinion. (By the way, blogs are opinion.)
If you really want to abandon the MSM, you're the one who will suffer. You will be less informed. If you abandon the MSM, you only give Fox more room. And that's the last thing we need. Fox (and their RW media cronies) are a huge reason why we lost. Fight Fox, not the NY Times/WashPost.
