Generation Z is typically defined as those born between 1997 and 2012 - excluding those born after 2006, who would have been too young to vote, this cohort of voters are those between 18 and 27. For survey purposes, pollsters generally use the 18-29 age range. And according to the exit polls, voters in the 18-24 cohort, who made up 8 percent of the electorate, supported Harris over Trump by 11 points, 54 - 43 and voters in the 25-29 who made up just 5% of the electorate, favored Harris over Trump by 8 points, 53-45. While men aged 18-29 preferred Trump by one point, 48 Harris/49 Trump, but that was more than offset by women 18-29, who went for Harris by 23 points, 61-38.

The age cohort that gave Trump his boost was the 50 to 64 group, which made up more than a quarter of the electorate and favored Trump over Harris 56 to 43.
