(2,724 posts)don't consider it home, and have a "just looking after myself now" attitude. But several real grass-roots organizations have sprung up to combat that MAGA thinking--Support Our Schools to combat the Moms for Liberty christofascist public education takeover, the SEE Alliance to fight local school board takeovers by Moms for L candidates (they empower students, the actual consumers of public education, to organize and speak out) and the "we say gay" movement. There are others. The point is, the resistance is from activists on the very local levels. There have been successes--MAGA politicians now know they will be opposed when they try to take over school boards. And the young people who get involved on that level become engaged in political action--they see that their voices matter. Many stay engaged, and may help turn things around in future.
Anyway, at least J.Dingleberry Vance wasn't from here.
