(109,638 posts)19. Why should "convincing proof" be needed before an audit is done? In my state we ROUTINELY as part of the NORMAL process
perform audits. We have all paper ballots and they take a sample of them and recount them by hand. If the result didn't match the machine tabulation, then all the ballots would be recounted.
