They may feel that homosexuality itself is a great wrong, or that it's something that can somehow be "cured."

I don't know that this judge feels that way, but it's quite possible. And based on other comments, it would appear that the judge treated the couple very rudely in addition to not doing the marriage.

In any case, she discriminated against people based on their sexual orientation. If one's religious persuasion disallows same-sex marriages, one shouldn't be in a career that requires one to formalize them.

Same thing with pharmacists who refuse to fill certain prescriptions for religious reasons. I have no patience for that. Either agree to fill prescriptions, or find another line of work.

I'm not LGBTQ, but if I was, I'd do whatever I could to get any case I'm involved with heard by a different judge in that jurisdiction.
