In reply to the discussion: Why all the posts dismissing the murder of UnitedHealth CEO in New York? [View all]GenThePerservering
(2,675 posts)205. For gawd's sake, enough of the concern trolling! nt
Thread after thread pretending this wide-eyed "is this what we have become???" horror because people aren't rending their clothing in anguish at this man's death, and have gallows humour because if we didn't laugh we would cry over the insurance situation.
And now there's this ironic turn of events. And no, some of us don't give a shit that he's dead, even if we know that murder will never solve anything and is wrong.
I'm waiting for "And so it begins", or maybe "buckle up" as our next cliche narrative.

OP
Oh, so now we are in an eye for an eye society? Perhaps Whiny is the right one to lead us

Pretty sure if something happened to my eye, UHC would be "Well, you still have the other one, don't you?"

Are you accusing DU members of doing something to the people we disagree with?
Think. Again.

It is not "doing" it is applauding a murder. A murder! What sense of moral is this?

An eye for an eye would apply only if someone here killed him. This is a bit dramatic.

No of course not. But there are several posts reporting the murder, the first, with more than 100

Yeah, I saw this. People are entitled to their opinions, but it doesn't mean I have to like them, or agree w/ them...

None of us is "this way." No one here "eliminated" anyone, as the OP is claiming. Ridiculously.

No. There is a difference between not mourning, shrugging even, and applauding which many comments

okay but I don't think when people say they want to eat the rich they want to do it while the person is still alive

Im sure he was all broken up about the deaths of people he caused through his company's policies

I don't recall DU being very nice when Jerry Falwell or Rush Limbaugh bought it.

+1. Our healthcare system -- or lack of it -- sucks. But most blame belongs to Congress for not enacting

Don't mind the blame, but shooting him or dancing on his grave is unnecessary. Voters have approved the system

I know. For whatever reason, we have not been able to get universal healthcare or even a Public Option.

As were buggy whip manufacturers. When do you think Congress will enact a better system and will voters

How many politicians and religious leaders are murdered? A lot. Like, all the time.

Compassion? Go tell it to the people who had claims denied by United Healthcare.

Insufficient mourning for your cultural and economic superior? You should feel ashamed!

So you're saying that a insurer's letter to a newborn denying coverage makes murder justified?

What's being said? That UHC is the leading insurance company that denies claims.

Stop with that grave dancing. UHC employees have to pay extra to have their own family members covered.

And I hope that most of us would react similarly. But the amount of glee on these pages should worry us
