Ain't no f'n way [View all]

Trump's retribution and deportation rhetorical bullsh*t have been previous DU topics so apologies for kicking dead horses...

I don't doubt some number of immigrants will be deported to somewhere...but 20 million? That's a number equal to the population of Florida. "They" talk about deporting massive numbers of people but don't give the details on where they will be deported to. What country will say "Yeah, we'll take a few million?"

Add to that, locating the 'illegals' will require massive numbers of locators, then the 'located' people will have to be detained in some facility and taken care of while 'they' find a place to send them.

The necessary logistics for a successful deportation process are mind boggling.

Stephen Miller:

That would mean a historic increase in border agents, a pay raise for both full funding for military operations, full funding for ice beds, full funding for air marine operations, full funding for all of the barriers and technology that you need to ensure there’s never another got away entering this country.

Parts of that were in the proposed bill that Trump nixed. But the rest of it won't take place.

So far as 'retribution' for the Jan 6 committee...

Adam Kinzinger has told President-elect Donald Trump to "bring it on" after the incoming president said that members of the January 6 investigation committee should face jail time.

The former Illinois congressman, who was one of two Republicans alongside Liz Cheney to serve on the committee, challenged Trump to give him jail time, writing that the president-elect was "rewriting history" and "playing the victim."

You can't put people in jail for doing their jobs...
