I lived in L.A. for a little while - roomed with industry types - and they were talking about people like Bryan Singer and his parties even back then twenty years ago. People like Cosby, Weinstein, Spacey, etc. I've friends still in that industry, and every allegation that eventually gets mainstream legs isn't the faintest surprise.

And if below the line people have known about it for years, higher ups definitely do.

Of course in that kind of industry, there's strong incentive to "go along to get along" in order to secure their own careers. It's a small, small town. Much smaller than people think. And of course once everything spills out into the public, it's "I had no idea this person who has been famously followed by open rumors for years turned out to have been exactly what those rather loud rumors said." What are they going to say? "Yeah, I basically knew. But I was getting that bag and awards recognition, so why put that at risk?"

Their PR person would bounce on the spot.
