H1B visas are used for cheap labor and to force wages if programmers (code monkeys) down . This part is true.

The H1B is called the slave visa by people who get it to be tied not only to the company that brought them to the US but also to the job title at entry. They cannot receive a promotion without kicking in a return to your home country for 365 days. Companies who use them tell the recipients that if you take another job,we will force you back to your home country for a year and go to the back of the line for a green card. All of my Indian friends have told me how they are stuck until they get their green card which usually has a waiting period of up to ten years.

The TRUTH of the largest number of 'illegal immigrants ' is that the majority in that category are people who qualify for asylum but we're denied asylum and stayed anyway. They can't legally stay in the US and face retribution from corrupt government or gang/militia on their home country. The reality is the vast majority should have been given asylum status to begin with.
