Actually, I don't feel loss so much as incredulousness. This guy has benefitted from so much America has offered that his un-American attitudes baffle me.

Frankly, I don't have enough years left to care about such people. As the great Ms. Angelou said, when people show you who they are, believe them the first time. My pal has shown me his true inner self.
