At the height of the gas crisis during the Carter
Administration, I remember the President beseeching us to conserve fuel. He wore his sweater and talked about eliminating jack-rabbit starts and stops while driving.
To this day I accelerate slowly and drive just below the flow of traffic.
Got 50 mpg out of Priuses since 2004.
Jimmy Carter made a lasting impression.
