They nearly succeeded in eliminating guinea worm and have made lots of progress on others like river blindness (also a parasitic infection).

The guinea worm eradication project focused on giving poor people access to clean water (this would actually help with a lot of infections and conditions).

A lot of Christians in this country don't actually care about poor people anywhere. He was the real deal.
