I was watching This Week With George Stephanopoulos last March when Stephanopoulos asked her how she, as a woman, could justify support for an adjudicated rapist like Donald Trump. She dodged the question by indignantly asking how dare he ask that of a rape survivor like herself.

Stephanopoulos continued to press for an answer, and she continued to dodge and deflect by repeating over and over again, how dare he ask that of a rape survivor, how dare he ask that of a rape survivor.

And now ABC News has backed down in its civil case and agreed to pay Trump fifteen million dollars for citing on-air the court case in which the judge stated clearly that Trump had been found liable for rape. And such unscrupulous women as Ernst and Mace will continue to leverage their status as rape survivors to empower and elevate sexual abusers like Hegseth and Trump.
