There was no deal. There was an offer from the UN of dividing the British Palestine (an administrative territorial unit that did not exist prior to 1920) to the Jewish Palestinian leaders and Arab Palestinian leaders. The Jews took it, the Arabs rejected it. That was the end of any possible "deal". The day the Palestinian Jews tool the offer, five Arab countries invaded the UN part that the Palestinian Jews accepted on behalf of Palestinian Arabs. The Arabs lost, and they accepted their losses in the 1949 armistice agreements. After Jordan annexed the West Bank and Egypt annexed Gaza, there was nothing left of the land allocated by the UN to the Palestinian Arabs.
