Trump said before the election that he would appoint Musk to head up DOGE, which was supposed to find efficiencies in the government. That should have sent up red flags given Musk’s history of mismanagement and lying and Trump’s history of fraud and grift.

Sadly, I think ALL the other "safeguards" failed. President Biden had no power to do anything.
