States increased early voting hours to accommodate social distancing. Accommodations were all over the local news. They all also increased access to Vote by Mail. Once again this was all in the media. Our county commissioners were constantly in the news. (Along with our daily Covid report)

Local officials were so worried that Covid would lead to decreased turnout that they went out of their way to increase access to voting and they turned to the media big time. Hey even Abbott got involved! He signed executive orders to add a week to early voting. He allowed mail ballots to be turned in earlier. He allowed counties to send applications to those over 65. Even Abbott was afraid of getting sued.

Also voters were less busy in 2020 due to Covid restrictions.
