It didn't matter how awful Trump's appearances were, what mattered was that enough people thought things were OK enough during his first term to vote him back in-- nostalgia for the low interest rates with minimal inflation until Covid that existed under Obama's 2nd term and then Trump's. They are in for a big surprise with the big changes he is bringing-- basically ending the American Century (see Henry Luce), on top of a series of bad economic policies.
