(1,270 posts)That is just a better talking point than advocating for controlling the sexual behavior of women and protecting the rights of men to have their way with women. Having grown up in Mississippi and seen the sexual abuse of women when totally controlled by theats of reputation, morality and loss of a future, I know how a society can make the threat of rape a mind-destroying total imprisionment without bars for women, while ignoring men who rape of their own children. Despite the stories from women who grew up in the 50s, I never once saw a man questioned, much less prosecuted, for abuse of his daughter or granddaughter but I saw many a woman shunned for sexual behavor with a boyfriend. Even the rapist would call the raped names like slut and whore. That made it all OK.
