More Putin wisdom. Even if you lose playing by the rules, you still lost. They succeed by ignoring the rules. They've bent the Court, making the rules quaint, and their army of goons are "standing back and standing by". In this instance, Honor itself is a hostage, and winning will mean matching deplorable with deplorable. We can't beat them without getting down in the gutter with them. This is our only salvation, and we'll have to mortgage our Honor and make them pay to redeem it. We can turn the other cheek later. I blame Religion.
