that a lot of people are going to feel the pain of the policies the center-right have wanted for years but never thought about the consequences. Democrats need to be able to tell the truth in the same forceful and accessible way that Turnip lies in order to be heard in this media landscape. But there need to be real adjustments in how Democrats talk about the issues that have alienated moderates in so many areas. That stupid anti-trans commercial the Turnip campaign ran against Harris was unfortunately very effective in my area anyway. Democrats have to--like it or not--recalibrate their messaging to be staunch defenders of individual rights and liberty and not just defenders of trans-athletes. Not pushing back against that commercial in a thoughtful way was a big mistake. There are going to be some huge opportunities to show which party is the defender of the Constitution and individual rights. Tacking in a way that makes people think you are just Republican-light is not a winning strategy IMO.
