Without them, it would have been even worse. Count your blessings. Also, two unpopular (but elected) politicians do not define the entire Democratic party. Why would anyone say or do things that suppress the vote for Democrats?

Yes. Then fight that rather than demanding that the Democratic party cede the advantage to the GOP by willingly playing on an unlevel field... all for the sake of virtue signaling. Our party should use every legal means we have to compete with the GOP. Refusing to do so in order to give a purity performance (while intentionally putting our party at a disadvantage) makes no sense.
