3. Here's the real issue

Our debt. It’s serviced by investors who buy our bonds. Investors and countries buy our bonds bc they are deemed the most secure investments in the world. Last week the rate on the 10 year bond went up by 0.20 percent in a matter of hours. Now, that small increment doesn’t seem meaningful, but when you’re investing hundreds of millions of dollars that increase means a lot. If it continues the cost of servicing our dept will exceed $1T a year.
