In reply to the discussion: Trump Tells Canadian PM He Might Take Over His Country in Wild Meeting [View all]dixiegrrrrl
(60,073 posts)69. I've seen one of Grandpa's hortels in a small silver camp in the Cascades.
Trump's G-pa was all over the PNW during the Alaskan Gold Rush and the silver mining rush, making money from running hotels of a certain type.
He did it in Seattle as weii.
I was surprised to discover that he was given credit for building a hotel even up in Monte Cristo,in the Cascade Mountains north of Everett, Wash. There's an old silver mining camp up in the Cascades that was a favorite drive when I was younger. Hardly a flat building there, the ground is steep and crooked. But some old stores are there, a few camp houses, and overgrown mine entrance.
I did not know about Grandpa Trump's history in the area until reading about his during dodo's first term. Found it rather surprising. But it does explain family characteristics.

But it's not big enough! There's that big, fat country on the border, just for the taking...

The better life gets in Canada, the more his base gets mad. It's red meat for his loser base. Like catnip.

Also, I suspect it's his fucked up climate change plan. Canada has 20% of the world's freshwater resources

Maybe he can buy Canada from the money earned from Mexico after they pay for the magnificent wall he built.
