for which they must know they are unqualified. Is it such an ego trip that they can't resist it, figuring that they wouldn't have been asked if the appointer didn't think they could do the job? But if your job qualifications for US Attorney for D.C. consist of having been a prosecutor 20 years ago, and you've been a cable talk show host ever since, wouldn't you think twice? Wouldn't you say, "Thanks, but sorry; I haven't been an active attorney for 20 years and I think my lack of recent experience would be a problem in this position, so I have to say no"? I sure would. I'd be scared to death to take that job, knowing I was likely to fuck it up, no matter who had offered it to me. If it was Trump who'd made the offer I'd run away screaming. We know what happens to almost everybody who works for Trump, and I wouldn't want to be just another person looking up at the undercarriage of a bus.
