exciting, as Brian Lamb was hosting. His guest was a woman who represented the oil industry.

I asked her what would happen if a really major oil spill occurred in the Gulf -- who would pay for it. She royally blew me off, replying that the odds of that happening were practically zero -- there were just too many safeguards in place.

I repeated my question about who would pay for it. She assured everyone that the oil companies would pay, but repeated that mine was an absurd query. Ten days later the BP oil spill happened. (Always wondered if she remembered how surly her response to me was.)
