He was arrested and then released. There weren’t any charges to be dropped since he’s not officially charged with anything yet. The SDNY just stated that they will investigate and determine if charges will be filed and/or brought before a grand jury for indictment. Could take a few days or weeks for that, just like with the NJ ICE facility indictment.
