9. You don't seem to realize how many hospitals (not just rurals) are teetering on the edge... It is the prospect

That means they will fail, even if it is not imminent this year. They can't get bridge funding, their boards of directors or county commissioners are fed up and want to sell to the first hedge fund that comes along which will totally dismantle them before anything "official" happens from Dr. Oz'a corrupt/ignorant-as hell CMS and the Trump White House.

These hospitals are dying, and this is the last nail in the coffin. And their death will mean thousands of patient deaths. The clueless, wealthy and yes, well-intentioned, yet uninformed among us who think their full insurance shields them--and who do not see what I and my colleagues see daily--are about to find out. This is going to hurt all of us. Those who will now have to travel hours for a serious emergency are not going to have a "Flight for Life" helicopter dispatch for them if they are not $$$$. Nor will they get the needed routine care that such travel entails. We are about to start a horrendous trend not readily reversible of increasing overall mortality rates and poor survival from treatable disease to join the trend in maternal mortality in this country--something that will make WHO and the rest of the world just look upon us aghast.

A delay in Medicaid cuts that is not immediate-- even though passed in legislation and fully announced. Oh, I only wish that made the ultimate difference. It does not. It will not.
