(113,162 posts)and critical of TSF, et al. If it is one who is on to skewer the Democrats, well, Joe the A'hole comes out as though the intervening years since he was in Congress (and which he reminds us hourly...
) had never happened. And if it is a right-wing-leaning guest, then he becomes a pretzel trying to find good things to say about the administration.
So, what of Mika? Silence. I cringe now when she does those segments on "empowering" (supposedly) women--her "Know Your Value," which has become nothing more than a forum to highlight the monied business elite among the women she knows. (yes, some were seemingly entrepreneurs and deserve some lauding, but it would appear few were ever without substantial financial backing from someone and few have any evidence of being "disadvantaged" growing up). I once would have applauded this, but it has simply become an attention-garnering effort for Mika, IMHO. Repetitive and in this time of women being decimated by Trump, Republicans, and all their ilk in every way, not one word, not one bit of organized effort, to fight back. Just a forum to pat these successful women on the back as they appear to have divorced themselves from politics and pulled the ladder up to their gated houses on the high hill. I respected her father and her brothers (from what I know of them) and used to really like her, but all this seems designed to allow her to avoid the sticky issues that come up with what Joe continues to say and, I suppose, to avoid becoming a target again herself to Trump and his boorish comments.
So, I can't really agree that they have changed more than on a superficial and highly self-serving basis.
I agree with the comment above that suggests fewer people are watching. I listen via Tune-In radio while walking my pup when there is no better podcast or musical option early in the morning. Otherwise, I'd be joining the "non-watchers.'
