83. Since I was brought up with the idea of how a "lady" would act and the freedom to actually not to do it,

many of the things about manners stuck to me. (Wish I had paid much more attention about wearing gloves outside when gardening). They were about kindness and acceptance and fitted into what seemed right to me. I saw my mother treat all people with respect. She gave money to the nieces of the person who worked for us so they could go to school up north to go to nursing school when there were no schools for them in Texas.
