27. Several clarifications, sounds like your experience is mostly sail

Outboard powered fishing boats (mostly center consoles) here in Fla regularly go up to 150 miles offshore and with multiple outboards they cruise at anywhere from 30 to 60+ knots.
The drug running skiffs most likely meet a mother ship offshore or refuel from locals in small coves etc, but yes, highly unlikely they are going all the way to the US.
