but I think she was basically trafficked herself -- via the use of the modeling agency as a front for sex work. But, as an immigrant, she had "skin in the game" and couldn't exactly speak up and blow up the whole operation without danger of deportation. An additional issue was that, in her mid-late 30s, she was running up on her expiration date in the "modeling" industry (especially when it was so much in the hands of literal pedophiles...) and had to find her meal ticket/"retirement plan" fast.

Ugh, I feel so dirty (kindof) defending Melania. Time for a shower.
