1. At minimum they went in to see her to make sure she'd be silent if they moved her somewhere nicer

and she told them in so many words "yes for sure" and they went "okay". She has no real reason to talk, she'd denied everything all along and not worked with authorities. If she was gonna talk, she would've. But they threw her a sop to make totally sure, and to maybe show some love for her omertà.

I mean yeah, she could've helped with directions like you suggest. But making sure she'll shut up about Trump, both before and after when he pardons her after the midterms? I'd guess that's mostly what they "paid her for" with the move. Her silence would be the big ticket item, and they bought it.
