9. Leaders

There once was a man craving might,
Who mistook all attention for right.
He grasped after power,
Each rule he’d devour—
Confusing loud bluster with sight.

Trump claimed he alone knew the way,
Yet truth seemed to slip day by day.
With a boast and a lie,
Facts waved him goodbye,
As honesty wandered away.

A leader, they say, lifts the crowd,
By trust, not by shouting out loud.
But fear was his tool,
And chaos the rule—
While law was dismissed and disavowed.

He bent every norm he could find,
Calling scruples a waste of the mind.
Principles? “Weak!”
He’d scoff each week—
As ethics were left far behind.

He promised to “drain” every swamp,
Yet splashed as he led the big stomp.
With cronies in tow,
The mire seemed to grow—
As justice was turned into pomp.

He chased after power’s bright gleam,
Mistaking it all for esteem.
But ruling by fear
Makes followers clear:
That force isn’t leadership’s theme.

For leaders are measured by care,
By fairness, restraint, and repair.
Not by lies stacked high,
Or laws brushed aside—
But by lifting the people they bear.
