WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — Robert Duvall, the Oscar-winning actor whose career across seven decades included memorable roles in "Tender Mercies," "The Godfather" and "Apocalypse Now," has died. He was 95 years old.

The death was confirmed by Duvall's wife, Luciana, on the actor's Facebook page. She said Robert passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by love and comfort.
