Trump has broken the Strait of Hormuz and the US must fix it. [View all]
Inexplicably, Trump did not foresee that Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz when he followed Netanyahu's orders to attack Iran.
Trump's attack on Iran was a war of aggression in violation of the UN Charter - a Senate confirmed treaty and, therefore, a violation of US law.
Anyone with half sense would have known that Iran, faced with an existential threat, would play its only ace and close the Strait. Lacking any sense, Trump agreed to Netanyahu's request to bomb Iran despite the predictable response.
Iran has violated International law by closing the Strait. In an extraordinarily feckless act, Trump has ordered a blockade of the Strait, also a violation of international law, albeit a meaningless one.
The problem now is that the international economy cannot survive the Strait being closed. It must be opened. The rest of the world is not going to fix what Trump broke. It will probably require yet more actions of a war of aggression and putting US troops on the ground in Iran and predictable casualties and waste of US treasure.
I cannot find a good answer to the problem.
